Today we received the bill for Cate's stay in hospital on 22 December. R1800. 00 and worth every cent. After taking a little water into her lungs at the townpool she had a bad laryngospasm and battled to get air into and out of her lungs. Adie, Beth and i rushed her to Casualty where they administered oxygen and cortisone nebulisers. After 45 minutes we finally saw the spasm was starting to ease up. She had laboured hard to breathe and was getting tired. At one stage she started to cry, and then realised if she cried, she could not breathe AT ALL so she stopped crying, shut her eyes, let go of my hand and clutched the sheet and put every ounce of her energy into breathing. She was amazing!!! At this stage the Dr had mentioned that the next action was to put her onto a ventilator, if she did not recover soon. We were scared she was growing tired of labouring.
Thank God, finally the airway started to open , over a while. She was admitted and i stayed with her, not sleeping but watching over her. Despite everything she had been SO protected by God. The Monday night before this on going to sleep i suddenly felt unsettled and anxious about our childrens' safety and wellbeing. i had woken Andrew up and we had prayed over the children, thinking it was so weird to be worried just after a long journey to Knysna.
By Sat eve after the incident that feeling and anxiety had gone. God had prepared us, protected Cate and restored her health and KEPT her safe. How quickly accidents can happen, and her face was not even IN the water, she had her face in front of a jet when water came out in full force and then she was immediately distressed.
This Christmas we celebrated and enjoyed LIFE, and having healthy, happy children- such incredible blessings. We are so grateful for having Cate well and HEALTHY!!!We feel so protected byGod, and so aware of how fleeting and fragile life is.
This little girl has prophecies saying she will be beautiful and display God's splendour, joyous, servant-hearted, as well as a faithful sister and friend, who will love God deeply. This fierce little monkey who has been feisty from tiny and yet is so shy when not with only her family. To God be the glory....Great things He has done!!!!
